Meet at 2:45pm, the tour begins at 3pm
Join us on Saturday, October 9 at 3 pm in Batavia, Ohio for a tour of Roothouse Aquaponics.
The mission of this enterprise is to provide clean and responsibly grown food to the local community in Southern Ohio. Their practices are sustainable and responsible.
From their fish food to their seeds, they are Non-GMO and they use NO herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers. Their plants and fish live in purified and sterilized rainwater harvested off the roof of their greenhouse.
They have recently been Certified Naturally Grown. They currently grow 5 varieties of living head lettuce, Genovese basil, edible flowers and sashimi grade fish. They supply their products to retail partners, restaurants and farmers markets!
Cost for the tour is $10 per person.
Additionally, please wear clean clothes and shoes. Do not come from the woods, fields, or garden - they operate a Bio-secure greenhouse and try to avoid pests and pathogens at all costs.
Note: This event replaces the October zoom meeting.
