Ohio CAN Producer Meeting
Toledo, Ohio
Thursday, March 23, 2023
6-8 p.m.
Ohio CAN is a program developed by the Ohio Department of Agriculture to purchase locally sourced produce within a 400-mile radius of Columbus from historically underrepresented farmers. Producers will have the opportunity to develop a market with the Ohio Association of Foodbanks. This will help support local economies and reduce food insecurity.
The program will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 6–8 pm. Carrie Harshbarger, Director of Special Foods Programs, and Ainsley Lightcap, Ohio CAN Project Manager, will be on hand to answer producer questions. They will be joined by Northwest Ohio CSU-Extension educators, Eric Smith, Community Economic Development, and Michelle Wallace, Agriculture, and Natural Resources to discuss options for coordinating this effort amongst growers.
